I advise my clients on all questions related to their incorporation, articles of association, internal regulations, delegations of powers, directors’ liability, good governance, volunteers, donations, dissolution and liquidation, etc.
I also have particular expertise and experience in assisting (international) associations and foundations with restructurings and reorganizations, in Belgium and abroad. This includes mergers and demergers, contributions and transfers of a branch of activity and a universality, (cross-border) seat transfers, collaborations and setting up networks.
Process management (e.g. in the framework of governance tracks for associations and foundations), acting alone or together with other experts, is also part of my advisory practice.
I regularly give lectures and workshops on these topics and am the author of several publications on non-profit law in leading legal journals.
I am a member of the Board of a large welfare organization in Flanders.
Aurion's non-profit and social profit team is ranked in the highest category (top tier) of the Legal 500 in the category ‘not-for-profit Belgium’. In the 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 editions, I was named as 'Next Generation Partner'.
Before Aurion, I was a partner at Curia and an attorney at the international law firms of Linklaters and Baker & McKenzie.
In 2005, I obtained an LL.M. at the University of Chicago (USA). In 2003, I graduated as Master of Laws at the KU Leuven (magna cum laude). In 2002, I spent a year at the Université Catholique de Louvain (magna cum laude) as part of the Erasmus project.
