Hanne Gielens, Associate

I am a lawyer registered at the Bar and also a certified Data Protection Officer ("DPO").

On a daily basis, I provide legal support on employment law issues. In that context, I have a particular interest in discrimination, well-being at work and privacy.

I regularly intervene in discrimination cases and this both for individual parties and public institutions (e.g. Unia or the Institute for Gender Equality).

In addition to my master's degree in law from KU Leuven (cum laude), I obtained an additional master's degree in Forensics, criminology and law (cum laude) from Maastricht University, with a focus on discrimination law.

Afterwards, I also obtained the DPO certificate ("Data Protection Officer"), allowing organisations to appoint and register me as such with the Data Protection Authority. It is possible for organisations to appoint an external person as DPO, both permanently or ad interim.

Furthermore, I can of course assist with all other privacy issues.
